The Mysteries of the three Marys
The Mysteries of the three Marys
The meaning of the name,
'Mary' has generated series of spirited and considerable debates concerning the
exact interpretation of this name and the reason this name is used to refer to
important personalities in the life of Christ. These personalities seem to have
a covert or hidden importance that adds credence to the life and person of
Jesus Christ. Who were these personalities; and what qualities or attributes
did they possess that contributed immensely to the quality of his life-purpose?
People bearing this name often become disappointed when they look up its
meaning; what could be the intention of biblical author/s, giving this name to
important personalities in the life of Christ? The true meaning of the name
‘Mary’; the spiritual purpose of these three Marys in the life of the Christ
and how these three Marys interconnect is the preoccupation of this thesis.
The three Marys of interest
here are the three Marys who stood by the cross of Jesus at his crucifixion. John 19:25; Now there stood by the cross of Jesus
his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary
Magdalene. The name, 'Mary' means 'rebellion'; another interpretation says,
'bitterness'.
This thesis would not be
helpful for folks who interpret the letters of the scripture in its raw literal
form. The aim of the author is to turn WATER (THE WORD) into WINE (THE
MYSTERIES OF THE SPIRIT), being the first primary assignment of any Christ
aspirant. 2 Corinthians 3:6; Who has
made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the
Spirit: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.
Let me build a premise here:
A dimension is a level of consciousness, and within a dimension we have realms.
A realm is a particular state of consciousness in which an individual exist, so
you could have an infinite number of realms within a dimension; a realm is also
an abstract sphere of influence, real or imagined. A sphere of influence
is the level at which our consciousness is affected, controlled or manipulated;
it is the unseen power within a dimension with the ability to develop, change or
fluctuate life-experiences such as conducts, thoughts or decisions. When one
creates the right condition or atmosphere for this kind of influence, it will
manifest. There are spheres of influence within every dimension or level of
consciousness. Perhaps, we should see our world as a form of dimension within
dimensions; as a form of firmament within firmaments. Genesis 1: 6-7; And
God said, Let there be a firmament (dimension) in the midst of
the waters (realms), and let it divide the waters (realms)
from the waters (realms). And God made the
firmament (dimension), and divided the waters (realms) which
were under the firmament (dimension) from the waters (realms)
which were above the firmament (dimensions): and it was so.
If we brood over these
scriptural verses, we could come to the conclusion that we are within a
particular realm (sphere of influence) in our dimension distinct from other
realms, when we outgrow the state of consciousness or influences within our
current realms, we move on to the next realm until we come to the zenith of our
current dimension. The influences or powers, controlling other (lower or
higher) dimensions are forbidden within our current dimension. The acquisition
of the knowledge of the culture or behaviour of other dimensions (or worlds) is
called FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE; also, it is an act of REBELLION (total
disregard to the influences and powers controlling a particular dimension) to
possess such knowledge. It is this forbidden knowledge; this act of rebellion
(Mary) that gives birth to the Christ in us. When ones finds himself outside
the sphere or influences of the powers at work in an existing dimension,
although he is incarnate within that dimension; if such a one is under the
influence and guidance of the HOLY SPIRIT, we can rightly say: "Here is
the Christ". But if such a one is under the influences and manipulation of
evil spirits, we can also say: "Here is the Devil" (Any human who
collaborates with powers and principalities within and outside a dimension to
enslave other humans mentally, psychologically and emotionally). It is the duty of
these spiritual powers and principalities to protect our dimension from
intrusions and/or interferences from other spiritual dimensions, be it positive
or negative; so they build strongholds and defense systems in our consciousness
through memes, education, religion and culture. Please heed this advice: Be
cognizant of the influences you open your mind to, this is very important
because out of the heart flows the issues of life and the scripture recommends, 'to guide our
hearts diligently'. So when I say,
"Here is the Devil", I mean the HOLY SPIRIT impregnated Mary
(forbidden knowledge or act of rebellion), and she gave birth to Christ, Mary
could also be impregnated by evil spirits, and could give birth to the Devil.
These evil humans (devils) have a relationship with forces within and outside
our dimension, and are in possession of this forbidden knowledge, but they use
this knowledge in such a way that is detrimental to the lives of other humans
and also to enrich themselves materially.
Why is our dimension so
jealously protected that barely anyone can get out (mentally) of it?: Because
at the threshold of every dimensions are demons and angels waiting eagerly and
at battle with one another for our souls, and the demons seems to be having a
field day because their offers appear juicy and tempting. Other interpretations translate Mary as,
'bitterness'. While the demons' offers or contracts seems juicy and tempting,
the offers or contracts of the angels are the very opposite, Bitter! If we can
come to the understanding of the travails and anguish of Jesus Christ on the
cross, we'll also come to the understanding of why the process that gave birth
to the Christ in him is called Mary (bitterness). Mary (Bitterness) is the
symbol of the gall offered him on the cross; bitterness is the ingress mixed
with perseverance (cross) that gave birth to celestial consciousness in the man
Jesus.
We have three Marys:
1) The Virgin (untouched or
unknown)
2) Wife of Cleophas
(renowned father)
3) The Magdalene (one who
propels to greatness)
These three Marys are always
present at the death of the Christ on the cross. Death here connotes immunity
from the influence and powers controlling a current dimension. He said, 'I am
in this world, but not of this world'. Simply put, 'I am dead to this world!'
1) The Virgin Mary: The
word, 'Virgin' means: unexplored, undiscovered, unrevealed and pristine. The
word, 'pristine' may mean: pertaining to the earliest state of something. The
importance of the symbol of the Virgin as the mother of the Christ stems from
the fact that we journey from the conscious aspect of our being to the
unconscious; the conscious aspect of us being information or realities we
already know or can readily embrace, this kind of reality is communicable to us
and can be accepted by us because they are permitted within the sphere of
influence in our realm or dimension. The fact we are unaware of certain
abilities that we possess or realities and/or knowledge which lies beyond the
sphere of influence in our realm or dimension does not mean these abilities or
realities do not exist. They simply lie beyond the reach of our current
conscious state but are readily available when the conditions are right to
acquire such information. We can say this information reside within the unconscious
regions of our being. This information can be said to be unexplored,
undiscovered, veiled or unrevealed in us until perchance, the events of our lives
produces the right conditions for the revelation or unveiling of this
unconscious aspects of our being. The Virgin Mary is the symbol of the first
time myriads of FRAGMENTARY information from other worlds are revealed to us;
this is a very difficult time in the life of the individual. Suddenly, in a
flash, a spark of divinity (divine consciousness) lights on someone; it's like
tearing a veil off that person so that he could see, feel and hear like the
very first time. This individual begins to look round him with wonder, as new
and strange ignition and streams of consciousness overtakes him. 2 Corinthians 5:17; Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
are becoming new. This spark of
divinity is the allegorical sound of the trumpet and then the rapture (an
extreme state of happiness with our being) takes place. This process can be
enacted if one diligently and dutifully sets his mind on knowledge of the
higher worlds and its attainment. It's like breaking through a matrix or
prison, simply put; he breaks through the stronghold of a well guided
dimension. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5;
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapon
of our warfare are not canal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of
strongholds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts
itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought
to the obedience of Christ. Although, he is
physically present in a world, he is not mentally and psychologically there;
like teleport, he now resides in a higher world, his rapture has taken place.
He dares or defies the influences of the powers that be within the dimension of
his incarnation; he continually untangles himself from the influences of these
powers. He begins to see differently, hear differently, feel differently and
act differently. Romans 12:2;
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God. This rebellious act could
either give birth to the Christ or Devil in him. With the birth of Christ, the
conscious aspects of him reach out to the unconscious regions and divine
realities gradually begin to unfold. As divine realities unfold, he becomes immune
to the spiritual powers and authorities controlling the level of consciousness
in that dimension. The control of the state of consciousness in any realm or
dimension is necessary so that there may be order within the realms and
dimensions but when one outgrows a state of consciousness in any dimension, he
must strive to break through the walls or strongholds or he gets stuck, "the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and
only the violent take it by force."
So, the Virgin Mary is the
symbol of the early stage when one acquires myriads of fragmentary information
of the spiritual worlds outside one's realm and dimension and embraces them.
Within these information lies the true intention or purpose of creation, but
the truth lies enclosed within, sprinkled among these fragmentary information,
only to be sieved out by the HOLY SPIRIT. When the individual (divine rebel)
acquires and embraces this knowledge, he is said to be immersed or baptized
(indoctrinated) into water (the word). This is the allegorical meaning of the
term, 'water baptism'. This stage reveals to him one fact: that he is
characteristically imbued uniquely with divine intelligence, thus he is God!
The individual then moves on to the next stage, which is the true test of his
intentions with his Godhood. How would he use his powers as God? This is the
allegorical meaning of the temptations of Christ. If he passes, the Christ is
born; if he fails, behold the devil incarnate... Hebrews 4:12; For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than
any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of
the heart: Psalms 24:3-5; Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who
shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who
hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall
receive the blessing from the Lord (the Father), and righteousness from the God
of his salvation.
If the Christ-aspirant
passes these tests (like Jesus did), the Virgin Mother urges her son on to his
first and primary assignment: the turning of water (the word) into wine (the
mysteries of the Spirit). The influence and duty of the Virgin Mother ends
here. She has successfully contributed immensely to the pulling down of
strongholds, casting down imagination and everything that exalts itself against
the knowledge of our Godhood, and every mental influence had been brought to the
obedience of the son. Her son is now immune to the influence of spiritual
powers and authorities in the dimension.
2) Mary, the wife of Cleophas:
Cleophas means, 'renowned Father'; so we could paraphrase and say, "Mary,
the wife of renowned Father". To know who this Mary is, we must know
firstly who the renowned Father is. Some other interpretation translates Cleophas
as, 'Glory'. So we have the renowned Father who is also known as, 'Glory'. A renowned
individual is a well-known person and worthy of praise. Who is this renowned
and glorious individual?: HE is the LORD GOD Almighty; the source from whom all
life come; In God we live; in God we move and in God, we have our being, for we
are the offspring of God; Acts 17:28,29. There is nothing that exist, that
exist without Him; He is known as God, the Father. If we brood comprehensively
over the subject-matter of the TRINITY, we will come to the understanding that
the masculine aspect of divinity corresponds with its feminine aspect to
produce another aspect of divinity called: God, the Son. The word,
'corresponds' as used here means, 'intercourse' between these two aspects of
divinity. Let me put forward this illustration: The study of electrical energy
shows that there is a positive electric charge and a negative electric charge;
when these two combine they produce a neutral. The status of the masculine
aspect of divinity depicts that the Father cannot have a direct relationship
with the human state and level of consciousness but communicates with the material world through
the feminine aspect of divinity called Holy Spirit, also known as the,
'Creative Intelligence'. Our Father communicates to us through the Holy Spirit,
who is 'the Father's representative here on earth. The Holy Spirit (or heavenly
mother) makes known to us the mystery of the Father's will and the true
intention and purpose of creation, no other entity can do this. Mary, the wife
of Cleophas represents the Holy Spirit at work in the life of the dying Christ
on the cross. Her role is to nurture Him into the culture and ways of the
Creator's dimension (heaven) because She is the intelligence behind all
creation; She imbues the Creator-aspirant (Christ) with adequate wisdom to
carry out His purpose, which is the mystery of the Father's will, hid from the
beginning of time.
If Mary, the Virgin Mother
is the symbol of the early stage when one acquires myriads of fragmentary
information of the spiritual worlds outside one's realm and dimension and
embraces them; Mary, the wife of Cleophas, depicts the Holy Spirit putting
these fragmentary information into proper perspective; bringing alive the
written words inside the consciousness of the Son, making Him see for the very
first time the mystery of the Father's will, which have been veiled from the
beginning of time. The knowledge acquired at the early stage of rebellion
(Virgin Mary) were myriads of fragmentary information having the truth
scattered in them. The Holy Spirit sieves out the truth and feeds the Son with it, making
Him know and understand, fully and clearly the Father's expectation and
requirement of Him. The letters of the written word begins to come alive and
unveil their true form before him, he sees for the very first time the
mysteries within the Word. Not mere letters anymore, the Holy Spirit quickens
his understanding and insight, and he begins to decipher the letters of the
word; thus, he performs his first assignment (miracle), the turning of water
(word) into wine (mysteries of the Spirit). This is his second baptism,
''Baptism of the Spirit". The Holy Spirit baptizes him into the mysteries
of the Spirit; no man can teach another man the mysteries of the Spirit except
the Holy Spirit. A man may encourage or nudge us towards the acquisition of the
knowledge of higher worlds and its attainment but it is the duty of the Holy
Spirit to put this information into proper perspective. John 16:12-13; I have many things to say unto
you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is
come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to
come. Please do not be confused with the usage of the word, 'He' in the
description of the Holy Spirit here. When the Holy Spirit speaks, it is the
Father speaking, thus a representative of the heavenly Father on earth. Human perception
represents the person of the Holy Spirit with a "HE", just like a
woman bears her husband's name and not her maiden name. The Holy Spirit does
not speak of itself, but it is representative of the heavenly Father's voice.
Please note: I am not saying that the Holy Spirit is a woman or a female; my
point is: the Holy Spirit is the feminine aspect of divinity. The Father of all
Spirits, who carries the positive or masculine charge does/will not devolve
into the material world to have a relationship with us, He communicates with us
through a Spirit within the human consciousness and dimension who receives His
message and feeds it to us in a way we can absolve it. This Spirit is said to
carry a negative or feminine charge because it does not have its own message
but it is a channel through which sonship is conferred on us, through the word
of truth. James 1:18; Of his own Will begat he us with the word of truth,
that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. The Son,
while in the material world can have a relationship with the heavenly Father
through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit births Him into the knowledge of the
Will, Purpose and Requirement of the Father of man and plays a feminine role in
divinity by coagulating the Will, Purpose and Intention of the heavenly Father
into pictorial forms in our consciousness; converting spiritual information
such that we can mentally absolve them; these spiritual information is called,
'the seed of the Father', which makes us Sons of God. To comprehend the Trinity
as a spiritual family, one must understand the techniques of birth; If a man
gives another man his seed, would they produce a child? No! And so, because a
man cannot be pregnant with child, he becomes intimate with a woman and gives
his seed to a woman. The woman, being the channel through which a man's nature
can be born incubates and nurtures the seed until the baby is born. So also is
it in the spiritual, the Holy Spirit is the Heavenly Mother, the channel
through which Sonship is conferred on us through the adoption of our heavenly Father's
nature. The state of Sonship is the knowledge and embracement our Father's Will
and requirement of us. How then do we know the Father's Will and requirement
without the Holy Spirit, mothering us into it! So we perceive and recognize the
role of the Holy Spirit within the Trinity as feminine.
Let us discuss the
interconnectivity of The Virgin Mary (Rebellious Stage of spiritual
enlightenment) and Mary the wife of Cleophas (the Holy Spirit). The Virgin
Mother symbolizes the rebellious stage where the influences of the powers and
authorities of a realm and dimension are pulled down and destroyed. The Son
becomes immune to these influences and acquires myriads of fragmentary
information of the spiritual worlds outside His realm and dimension and
embraces them. Mary, the wife of Cleophas (The Holy Spirit), then puts this
information into proper perspective and nurtures Him into the culture and ways
of the Creator's dimension (heaven) which is the Father's Will and requirement
of Him. Remember, that it is the Holy Spirit (Mary, the wife of Cleophas) that
impregnates the Virgin Mary (the rebellious act) which gives birth to the
Christ in us. The Virgin Mother plays a feminine role in the material world and the
Holy Spirit, plays a masculine role. Like I said earlier, in the spiritual, the
Holy Spirit plays a feminine role, but in the material and physical world, it
plays the masculine role, a surrogate of the heavenly Father. So it is the
combination of the efforts of these two Marys that gives birth to the Christ in
a man. The Christ as used here means, 'one that is dying mentally, emotionally
and psychologically to a dimension through perseverance' (the cross). The scripture
refers to men as gods and children of the most high: Psalms 82:6. As long as man
embraces the culture and ways of this existing dimension, he remain a little
god (potential God) but when he becomes immune to the influences and powers
controlling his realm and dimension and come to the full knowledge of the
heavenly Father's requirements of him, he becomes the first born of creation.
3) Mary, the Magdalene: Some
detractors say that Mary Magdalene was the closest companion of Jesus, the
Christ. They do not how close they are to the truth, except that they cannot
decipher the truth. If we come to the understanding of the true interpretation
of the name 'MAGDALENE', we would come to see why this is so. The word
'Magdala' means Tower and/or greatness; Magdalene means 'a person from
Magdala'. To understand effectively the meaning of the word 'Tower' as used here,
we must let the scripture be our guide. Genesis 11: 4; And
they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach
heaven. The duty of the Magdalene, who was closest companion of the dying Christ, is
to help Him build His tower (through practical experiences) towards heaven (the
creator's abode). Remember, the role of the Virgin Mary was to help him break
down the defense wall or strongholds of principalities and powers in his
dimension and expose him to knowledge beyond his dimension, thus the birth and
foundation of spiritual Consciousness (Water baptism); she (the Virgin Mother)
then hands over the baton to the Holy Spirit who births him into the words of
truth (Spirit baptism) which is the knowledge of the Father's Will and
Requirement of Him. When the Christ comes to the knowledge of the truth of His
Father's Will and Requirement of Him; the channel opens through which the
Magdalene come into his life to assist Him in walking practically in the knowledge and light
of His Father's Will and Requirement of him; that is, living the heavenly
culture on earth. His words and actions henceforth would be from the
perspective of heaven. Let's say, he brings down 'heaven on earth'; thine will be done on earth as it is in
heaven. As He does this, the Christ is building a tower and climbing towards
Heaven, His next abode. The higher He builds through perserverance, the more he climbs towards
spiritual greatness and glory. So we see the meaning of the name, 'Magdalene'
congenial to the spiritual and conscious ascension of the Christ to Godhood.
The first two Marys birth Him consciously and spiritually but the Magdalene
becomes his life companion until the end of His earth life. The Magdalene
brings into the Christ’s life the practicality of heavenly culture and help Him
talk, the talk (like in heaven) and walk, the walk (like in heaven). The Virgin
Mary's name connotes 'REBELLION', but the Magdalene's Mary connotes,
'BITTERNESS', because a very few can do the Christ's talk and walk on earth.
Like I mentioned earlier, Mary (Bitterness) is the symbol of the gall offered
to the Christ on the cross; bitterness is the ingress mixed with perseverance
(cross) that gave birth to Godhood in the man Jesus. John 19:25; Now there was a set a vessel full of
vinegar; and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put
it to his mouth. When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished:
and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. The figurative, 'gave
up the ghost' means dead to the ways and culture in His dimension. This
is the allegorical, "baptism by Fire". This third baptism is the
practical walk in the light of the truth through travails and anguish; it burns
up every element of the mentality, ways and culture of this dimension in Him.
Mary Magdalene and the Seven
Demons
Magdalene is symbolic of the
practical walk of the Christ towards Godhood; the seven demons represent the
seven gruesome phases of the Christ journey toward Godhood. Each phase; so
difficult that one hardly makes it through. I believe this is why biblical
authors chose the word, 'demon' to represent these gruesome phases. Each Demon
represents difficulties, travails and anguish; so strong, they can affect a
person malevolently, with diabolical ability to paralyses the person
spiritually. John 19:32; then came the soldiers (demons) and
brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. Why were the legs of the
two fellows that were crucified with Jesus broken? Because these two fellows
were not dead consciously: to the ways and culture of their dimension. To break
the legs means to paralyze them spiritually; you cannot move swiftly when your
legs are broken. John 19:33; But when they came to Jesus, and saw
that He was dead already, they brake not his legs. In building our Tower towards heaven, one must
be dead to the ways and culture of this dimension else he risks spiritual
paralysis by these demons (Soldiers). The Christ did fight and contended with
each phase until he overcame, thus the allegorical: 'cast out seven demons
from her'. He can only achieve this feat through perseverance (the Cross),
so we see how bitterness becomes the ingress that mixes with perseverance if
our Godhood must be born. Let us see the Magdalene as the practical journey to
heaven and the seven demons in her as the gruesome phases encountered during
the journey. As the Christ encounters each phase, he did cast out each demon from
her. Surmounting each phase rewards Him with consequential knowledge of the
phases ahead, thus preparing Him for the next phase. The experiences gleaned in
the course of the journey remains forever, the closest companion to the Christ
until the end of His earth life.
Conclusion: The three Marys
are symbols of three baptismal phases of the Christ. Mary, the Virgin Mother,
represents, 'Water baptism'; Mary, the wife of Cleophas represents, 'Spirit
baptism' and the Magdalene represents, 'Fire baptism'. Mary, the Virgin Mother
and Mary, the wife of Cleophas were not mentioned in relation to Him after His
death. They were mentioned only in relation to other brethren and disciples but
not the Christ. The Magdalene continued with Him, opening the channel through
which another Mary came into His life: Mary, the wife of Zebedee (Abundance);
this thesis is about the three Marys, and so I would not expatiate the person of
the forth Mary. The duty of the Magdalene is to ensure His ascension, so she is
ever present at the resurrection and subsequently the ascension of the Christ.
John 19:26-28; When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing
by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith
to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her
unto his own home. After this, Jesus knowing that all things were accomplished,
that the scriptures might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Here, Jesus was urging John
to take a shot at His own Christhood. By urging John to take the Virgin Mary
into his house, Jesus was simply handing John the baton, urging John to allow
the Virgin Mother give birth to the Christ in him. John responded positively by
accepting the baton, he took her into his own home. Why John? Because John was
the disciple whose head rested always on the breast of Jesus: simply put, he
understood everything Jesus taught his disciples, this earned him the love of
the Christ. Of the four gospels, only John recorded comprehensively the Passover,
death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus. Jesus spoke plainly to the readers
in the gospel of John; also of the four gospels, only John gave a correct
account of how Christ fulfilled the Father's expectation of him, the other
gospels did not although readers are not sensitive enough to decipher this. The
four gospels account of the life of the Christ, were progressive stages of the
life of Christ until He fulfilled His Father's expectation of Him. Firstly, the
Christ in the gospel of John carried His cross to the end, Simeon helped him in
the previous three account, no one helps the Christ with his cross, it is His
duty to carry it to the end; secondly, it was John who correctly pointed out
that He drank the bitter gall and knew all have been accomplished, thirdly, the
Christ should correctly die and resurrect before the feast of Passover
{celebration of the end of an era}, not during or after the feast of Passover.
John was on the Isle of Patmos, when he saw and wrote REVELATION. To be on an
island is to be alone. Alone here means that he was the only one with the right
mentality and consciousness to see and have heavenly happenings REVEALED to
him. He had built and climbed his tower heavenward. The other disciples
continued with the teachings of Christ through the Holy Spirit and with the
expectation of paradise in mind, but it was only John who could move to the
third phase of spiritual consciousness (building and climbing the tower towards
heaven), leaving the rest at the second, John was the only disciple who stood
by Jesus at the cross or the trial of the third phase. Peter, having denied his
own Christhood thrice at the Christ trial (he couldn't bear the weight of the
third phase trial) was to take care and strengthen the others until the second
advent of the Christ, which ushers them into paradise. And so, Christ Jesus
ascends to Godhood in heaven, Christ John is born here on earth.
Let me leave you with this: 1 Timothy 5:23; No longer drink only water,
but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities.
To paraphrase, this statement may mean: Do
not depend solely on letters of the word (water), but you need little of the
mysteries of the Spirit (wine) for your comprehension (stomach's sake) and your
frequent (infirmities) inability to understand spiritual things.
Let's all heed this advice!
Spiritual wine gladdens and makes our hearts merry. 2 Corinthians 3:6; Who has made us able ministers of the new
testament; not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter killeth, but
the Spirit giveth life.
Cheers!
